Engagement Rings
The tradition of presenting an engagement ring to the person you love has a long history that covers many countries and cultures. In North America, usually just the bride to be wears an engagement ring, but in some countries both the future bride and groom wear them. The engagement and wedding ring is usually worn on the ring finger of the left hand because it was believed in ancient times that that finger had a vein that runs to the heart.
The styles vary a lot from a simple diamond solitaire (a ring that has only a single stone in it) to fancy rings with side stones, like halo crowns. We carry 14 kt white gold and yellow gold rings, some in two tone, as well as rose gold. We also have some rings available in 10K gold.

Please stop by and let us show you our selection and explain the different qualities of diamonds. Diamonds are rated by the 4-C’s. The 4-C’s refer to the stones color, cut, clarity, and carat weight. Each of these C’s can influence the cost of a diamond. Diamonds also come in different colors, though the sparkly, white diamond is by far the most popular.
Diamonds also come in a variety of shapes. The most popular is by far the round diamond, often referred to as “ideal” cut. They have facets cut in all the way around the stone which help reflect the light, so it gives off a beautiful sparkle. Some other lovely options for shapes/cuts of stones are princess, oval, cushion, marquise, and emerald. If we don’t have the shape or size diamond you desire we are always happy to get it in for you.
At Diekman’s Jewelry, we carry an exclusive round diamond for our area called the “Cross of Light”. This diamond features three different crosses which are cut into the precious gemstone.. The underside of the Cross of Light diamond displays sixteen more facets than an ordinary diamond. The special facets help to reflect the light in a very beautiful way and display the Greek cross, the Star cross, and the Maltese cross. Each Cross of Light diamond over 1/2ct is laser engraved with a registration number on it.
